Benefits of Cloud Applications For Businesses

Traditional business applications and platforms are too complicated and expensive. They need a data center, a complex software stack and a team of experts to run them.

This short video explains the benefits of Cloud Computing for businesses - why it's faster, lower cost and doesn't eat up your valuable IT resources.

Cloud Applications for Business [3:19]

Presented by Christopher Barnatt, Associate Professor of Computing and Organizations in Nottingham University Business School.

Cloud applications run in an web based environment, and can be either:

  • Server provider applications [SaaS]
  • Custom built applications - more reliable. Based on a multi-tenancy.

MultiTenancy

A giant application infrastructure, scalable and customisable by the cloud application provider. The applications run in the cloud and are accessed on a monthly subscription - based on usage.

Cloud computing is a simple idea that has a huge impact on business IT operating continuity and profitablility.
