Mobile Jotts

Turn any cell phone into a personal scribe using a free transcriptiong service called Jott.

  1. Sign up for the service online
  2. Validating your phone number and email address
  3. Dial Jott’s toll free number (877-568-8486), say ‘me’ or the name of a contact or group of contacts
  4. Speak for up to 30 seconds and then hang up.
  5. Jott transcribes the spoken words into writing, and emails or SMS's the message to its destination. Transcription usually takes a few minutes, or up to 20 minutes during peak hours. The original audio message is retained, and is linked to in the email for reference.

Jott has humans transcribing voice messages to overcome the reality that phones are often used in noisy environments, making use of speech recognition software almost impossible.

Privacy protection is assured by use of UserNames.

Jott is currently free as an ad-supported version, or a paid premium version.

Jott is only available in the United States and Canada. Partner with Jott for a local version.
