The key messages in this video are:
Enterprise 2.0 is an emerging technology – out of the box,
it's unstructured. The structure emerges as a byproduct of using
it. The complexity is in the software not in the use.
The collective intelligence of employees is a key business asset.
Web 2.0 tools give more knowledge transparency – it stops
people hogging information, and rewards those that share it.
Todays businesses are being built as virtual collaborative teams,
with work moving from the "desktop to the webtop". People
can now work together in a way that works for them.
People always figure a way to get their job done, the way they
want to do it, in spite of corporate rules and policies. The more
you enable them to do their job, the better for all. Having applications,
tools and capabilities are a low cost means to working and learning
New generation employees are used to collaboration on social sites
such as MySpace. It’s a learned way of living, and of working.
People who want to goof off at work, will do irrespective of internet
controls. Embrace the technology and use it to increase productivity
and innovation.
